We’ve talked at great length about the mystery of Rule #51, the endgame of M. Allison Hart, the motives of the Reynosa cartel and Gibbs’ big decision on tonight’s NCIS season finale.
In the episode, titled “Rule Fifty-One”, it appears as if Gibbs has gone lone wolf in Mexico, with Director Vance trying to foster his own investigation in D.C.
How will it all play out for Gibbs – with the drug bosses and his own boss? We welcome your theories. For now, ET has compiled about two minutes’ worth of clips from tonight.
Here’s a glimpse of what Gibbs and Vance are up to …
He promises the season finale on May 25 will be dramatic. “I was watching Mark Harmon in a couple of scenes because it’s a Gibbs-centric finale, and I think that what Mark does in these episodes is something outside of the normal Gibbs comfort zone. … There’s almost a feeling of dread that starts to happen in the last three episodes. You know, like a large dark cloud on the horizon. I can’t give away anymore specifics because of the nature of it, but it is a usual twist, and tragic. It will be very surprising.”
“Abby is in Mexico simply to teach, but she does make some cold-case discoveries while she’s there,” Perrette tells TVGuide.com. “She makes a few discoveries, actually, that come back around to other parts of our NCIS story lines that have been building for years.”
In particular, Abby finds a bullet she believes she can trace, which makes Gibbs, who murdered a Mexican drug dealer responsible for the death of his wife and daughter, more than a little nervous. The discovery will greatly impact Gibbs and Abby’s relationship well into next season.
“We’re really getting into their relationship, and it’s heavy,” Perrette says. “There’s a lot of stuff going on. We’re going to new territory and putting a microscope on the intensity of their relationship”
Abby’s relationship with McGee (Sean Murray) will also be explored while she’s south of the border. When McGee ends up in Mexico as well, he’s a bit jealous that Abby has a crush on the organizer of the symposium, Perrette says.
“There’s a handsome Latino stranger that Abby has her eye on,” she says, noting that McGabby fans shouldn’t give up hope. “There will always be something between McGee and Abby. They love each other and they had a relationship — clearly they went out and then they broke up. I love that the show didn’t deal with that as a contentious relationship. They may not be a couple, but they do love and respect each other.”
Perrette describes the final episodes of the season as a puzzle and says that viewers won’t want to be missing pieces. “Things are being brought up and coming together that have been being set up for seven years,” she says. “Seven years of details and memories and random stuff is coming together, which is fascinating. For our super fans who have been around since the beginning, it’s going to be, like, ‘Whoa!’”
As for that ending, Perrette says it’s being kept under lock and key. In fact, she says she shot some infamous “red-page scenes,” which include script pages that only the relevant cast members receive. After the scene is shot, the script is shredded.
“I’ve heard that there are other cast members who have had red-page scenes that I’ve never seen,” Perrette says. “I don’t even know what the final scene of the final episode is. But I’ve heard it’s crazy. I’m on the edge of my seat too.”
It would be the most bizarre TV crime show to date – ‘NCIS: The Musical‘.
Michael Weatherly, who plays Agent Tony DiNozzo in the hit show, insists there has been talk of the crime show doing a musical special.
‘If there’s a crime show that can get away with it, we’re on it,’ Weatherly insists.
‘We have talked about it, but there are certain people that think it would be a disaster and it’s Fonzie jumping the shark tank.’
Musical theater-trained Cote de Pablo, who plays Ziva David, and Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto, are both natural singers, and David McCallum, who plays Dr ‘Ducky’ Mallard, released four records in the ’60s.
Weatherly insists Gibbs could get in on it, too, adding: ‘Mark Harmon has done some cowboy singing in the past.’
Weatherly, who says he would like to cover Tom Jones’ What’s New Pussycat, says he can think of only one way to improve an NCIS musical episode.
‘If it’s a ‘NCIS’ and ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ episode, because of LL COOL J,’ Weatherly says. ‘It’d be a two-hour musical extravaganza.’
Michael Weatherly has launched a campaign to persuade U.S. TV bosses to let him show off his singing skills in a musical episode of hit crime series “NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service “. Weatherly, who plays Agent Tony DiNozzo opposite actor Mark Harmon on the series, showcased his musical talents on the “NCIS” soundtrack, and now he’s dreaming up plans for the detective pair to sing and dance on the programme.

He tells the New York Post, “If there’s a crime show that can get away with it, we’re on it… Mark Harmon has done some cowboy singing in the past.” But Weatherly admits convincing TV bosses to sign off on the idea has been a challenge: “We have talked about it… there are certain people that think that it would be a disaster.”
Michael Weatherly recently told TV Guide about his return to “NCIS”, saying “I’m very excited to come back. I have the best job on television and the best character. I have an extremely talented team of folks that I’ve been working with for a long time who are in negotiations. It’s ongoing, but I’m extremely positive.”

Good news, Tony DiNozzo fans: Michael Weatherly tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively that he’s “extremely optimistic” he’ll return to CBS’ top-rated drama NCIS next season. “I’m very excited to come back,” says Weatherly. “I have the best job on television and the best character. I have an extremely talented team of folks that I’ve been working with for a long time who are in negotiations. It’s ongoing, but I’m extremely positive about the outcome. Optimism reigns supreme.”
Another good sign: Weatherly says CBS has invited him to attend the unveiling of their fall schedule to advertisers later this month at the annual upfronts. “They bought me a ticket” to fly into New York for the event, he says. He’s also shot a short film that will be shown to advertisers there.
With the news that David McCallum will return, that leaves Sean Murray and Pauley Perrette as the only cast members whose chances of coming back remain unclear.

Reports of Ducky’s departure have been premature. In an update on the ‘NCIS‘ cast dispute that we reported the other day, David McCallum is signed for next season. That’s right, his manager told TV Guide that the previous stories had incorrectly put him in the same boat with Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray and Pauley Perrette.
McCallum’s manager explained, “I’m sure some of the others are negotiating, but he’s not affected by it. He falls into the Mark Harmon/Rocky Carroll category. He’s signed on for additional seasons. He’s excited to be coming back to the show and can’t wait to see everybody.”
While it’s gratifying to know that McCallum has a secure deal with the show, the other three stars really need to be locked up. We said it in our story, and our many comments agreed: ‘NCIS’ will not be the same show without Tony, Abby and McGee. Most fans wouldn’t consider replacements for these core characters satisfactory.
One last thought regarding the economics of settling with the actors and giving them raises commensurate with the success of the show. Currently, ‘NCIS’ draws an average of 19 million viewers per episode, up 5% from last season. In addition, the ad rate for 30-seconds on ‘NCIS’ is $133,000. With those kind of positive figures, it shouldn’t be too difficult for the producers to keep the cast together by sharing the wealth.

CBS’ top drama series, NCIS, will no doubt be back for an eighth season, but what about the cast? While star Mark Harmon, who is also a producer on the show, is locked in, the four other original cast members, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum and Sean Murray (he started off as a recurring in season 1), have no deals beyond the current seventh season. And from what I hear, talks between the actors and CBS TV Studios, which produces the hit procedural, have slowed down with the two sides far apart on the money. My understanding is that the studio went to the cast members with pretty low-ball offers, leading to the impasse.
At least a couple of the quartet are making well under $100,000 per episode, which is low for a hit seven-year-old series. I hear co-star Cote de Pablo, whose deal is up after next season, also has been approached with a similar low offer to extend her contract. In addition to Harmon and de Pablo, also set to return is regular Rocky Carroll, who also has a deal in place for next season. He joined the show in Season 5 as a recurring and was upped to regular the following year.
