Archive for Gibbs
We’ve talked at great length about the mystery of Rule #51, the endgame of M. Allison Hart, the motives of the Reynosa cartel and Gibbs’ big decision on tonight’s NCIS season finale.
In the episode, titled “Rule Fifty-One”, it appears as if Gibbs has gone lone wolf in Mexico, with Director Vance trying to foster his own investigation in D.C.
How will it all play out for Gibbs – with the drug bosses and his own boss? We welcome your theories. For now, ET has compiled about two minutes’ worth of clips from tonight.
Here’s a glimpse of what Gibbs and Vance are up to …
He promises the season finale on May 25 will be dramatic. “I was watching Mark Harmon in a couple of scenes because it’s a Gibbs-centric finale, and I think that what Mark does in these episodes is something outside of the normal Gibbs comfort zone. … There’s almost a feeling of dread that starts to happen in the last three episodes. You know, like a large dark cloud on the horizon. I can’t give away anymore specifics because of the nature of it, but it is a usual twist, and tragic. It will be very surprising.”
“Abby is in Mexico simply to teach, but she does make some cold-case discoveries while she’s there,” Perrette tells TVGuide.com. “She makes a few discoveries, actually, that come back around to other parts of our NCIS story lines that have been building for years.”
In particular, Abby finds a bullet she believes she can trace, which makes Gibbs, who murdered a Mexican drug dealer responsible for the death of his wife and daughter, more than a little nervous. The discovery will greatly impact Gibbs and Abby’s relationship well into next season.
“We’re really getting into their relationship, and it’s heavy,” Perrette says. “There’s a lot of stuff going on. We’re going to new territory and putting a microscope on the intensity of their relationship”
Abby’s relationship with McGee (Sean Murray) will also be explored while she’s south of the border. When McGee ends up in Mexico as well, he’s a bit jealous that Abby has a crush on the organizer of the symposium, Perrette says.
“There’s a handsome Latino stranger that Abby has her eye on,” she says, noting that McGabby fans shouldn’t give up hope. “There will always be something between McGee and Abby. They love each other and they had a relationship — clearly they went out and then they broke up. I love that the show didn’t deal with that as a contentious relationship. They may not be a couple, but they do love and respect each other.”
Perrette describes the final episodes of the season as a puzzle and says that viewers won’t want to be missing pieces. “Things are being brought up and coming together that have been being set up for seven years,” she says. “Seven years of details and memories and random stuff is coming together, which is fascinating. For our super fans who have been around since the beginning, it’s going to be, like, ‘Whoa!’”
As for that ending, Perrette says it’s being kept under lock and key. In fact, she says she shot some infamous “red-page scenes,” which include script pages that only the relevant cast members receive. After the scene is shot, the script is shredded.
“I’ve heard that there are other cast members who have had red-page scenes that I’ve never seen,” Perrette says. “I don’t even know what the final scene of the final episode is. But I’ve heard it’s crazy. I’m on the edge of my seat too.”
It would be the most bizarre TV crime show to date – ‘NCIS: The Musical‘.
Michael Weatherly, who plays Agent Tony DiNozzo in the hit show, insists there has been talk of the crime show doing a musical special.
‘If there’s a crime show that can get away with it, we’re on it,’ Weatherly insists.
‘We have talked about it, but there are certain people that think it would be a disaster and it’s Fonzie jumping the shark tank.’
Musical theater-trained Cote de Pablo, who plays Ziva David, and Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto, are both natural singers, and David McCallum, who plays Dr ‘Ducky’ Mallard, released four records in the ’60s.
Weatherly insists Gibbs could get in on it, too, adding: ‘Mark Harmon has done some cowboy singing in the past.’
Weatherly, who says he would like to cover Tom Jones’ What’s New Pussycat, says he can think of only one way to improve an NCIS musical episode.
‘If it’s a ‘NCIS’ and ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ episode, because of LL COOL J,’ Weatherly says. ‘It’d be a two-hour musical extravaganza.’
The ‘NCIS’ gang was finally back. As much as the reruns are enjoyable, there’s really nothing like a fresh episode. This was a fun episode because FBI agent Fornell was back, which means getting on Gibbs’ nerves and good banter between the two. And then there was the girl from Tim’s past. It’s not what you think, but if you want to know more, read on.

For a change, the murder had nothing to do with the larger crime that NCIS and the FBI had to investigate. The petty officer had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. After finding mob informant Stefano Delmar, Gibbs and Fornell started following the clues. The Judge was a least likely suspect, but it was logical that they wouldn’t have introduced her for just one scene.
The scene outside Cooper’s Hawk Security, with Gibbs and Fornell talking to the polygrapher Susan Grady, was well done. The explosion was completely unexpected and as the plot unfolded, it turned out that it wasn’t supposed to kill everyone; that was just a dumb accident. Fortunately, since she was with Gibbs and Fornell, Susan lived to tell them what she knew.
Susan was a strange one. She had a thing for McGee, which we knew, but when he finally asked her out, she said no. What was that all about? One minute she was playing the woe-is-me girl, all self-deprecating, but not really funny. Was she suddenly opting for the hard-to-get angle with McGee after throwing herself at him? Even Tony wouldn’t be able to figure her out.
Another angle that should be figured out one of these days is exactly what’s what with Abby and McGee. She was not welcoming of Susan into her lab, although that was probably not a wise move by Tim.
The best lie detector in the episode wasn’t the one Susan hooked up to Gibbs, it was Gibbs himself. He saw right through the janitor. But the very idea that Gibbs has never been polygraphed in eight years was amazing. How did he avoid it? It was telling that he refused to continue the test when she asked if he had ever committed a felony. In his mind, he flashed back to killing Ziva’s abductor, Saleem, with a high-powered sniper rifle. Rather than lie, he ended the session.
So the culprit was the judge, doling out vigilante justice from the bench. The idea that judges are being put through polygraphs as part of judicial confirmation is something that never occurred to me. What didn’t make sense to me was that Judge Wallace agreed to take a polygraph, that she was arrogant enough to do it in front of Gibbs and Fornell, and think she could get away with her actions. Rigging the machine to make noise was an extra touch of intimidation that worked to unnerve the redhead. Yep, another redhead.

A pair of familiar faces will cross paths with Gibbs & Co. as CBS’ popular ‘NCIS‘ winds down its seventh season.
For starters, Richard Burgi (aka ‘Desperate Housewives‘ dearly departed Karl) will guest-star in the episode airing May 18 and titled “Patriot Down,” Fancast has learned exclusively. Burgi, who wears the hell out of a fine-tailored suit in many a role, will play the well-to-do father of the prime suspect in an NCIS investigation.
Previously, Fancast scooped that Burgi will also be guesting on ‘Lie to Me’ when the Fox series resumes it season on June 7.
That same May 18th episode will introduce ‘Numb3rs‘ star Dylan Bruno as Lt. Jason Paul Dean, a freelance mercenary with ties to Col. Bell (Robert Patrick).
Dean, who is described by TVGuide.com as a highly decorated yet dishonorably discharged Army Ranger, will stick around for the May 25 season finale, in which it has been reported Gibbs will need to make a life-changing decision that will impact every member of his team.
Holly Snow, the madame we met in a previous episode, was back for this episode when the corpse turned out to be a Navy journalist investigating call girls. Or the guys who use them. So we found Holly where Gibbs had left her; doing community service as penance for her criminal activity. She was the perfect source of expertise for Gibbs. More on Holly, Gibbs and Tony’s new undies after the jump.

It was telling that the moment Gibbs showed up at the seminar, Holly’s cool crumbled and she wasn’t so snowy. Just the sight of Jethro unnerved her. Interesting.
Tony found a kindred spirit in Phil McCadden, the local police detective who had a similar fanboy worship of classic movies. It was great to see how they finished each others’ thoughts. If we didn’t know how hetero Tony is, you might suspect a romance. By the way, Adam Kaufman played Phil; you might remember him from ‘Without A Trace.’
Meanwhile, Tony and Tim were at each others’ throats. Ziva recognized their mutual sniping as the ‘seven year bitch.’ She meant ‘seven year itch,’ but her malapropism was more accurate. Tony was ticked off about how Tim pulled the sprinkles off his doughnut, a sure sign that they’ve been hanging out together too much.
Abby saw that Tim was jealous. How hilarious! He really was green with envy that T-Cad were hitting it off – you like, Tony and McCadden, like Brangelina.
Holly was really good at her job. She pegged Tony as a novice when it came to paying for sex. Was it the smoking jacket out of a David Niven movie? No. It was more revealing than that. “You’re wearing underwear right out of the package.” She had to give Tony tips about how to act like a John.
The lady of the evening, Charlotte Cook, looked good for the murder of the Navy journalist, but she was too obvious. When another John turned up dead and she was in custody at the time, she was eliminated as a suspect, but not as a witness. Holly worked with Gibbs to get Charlotte to flip.
Holly looked like she might be more involved than just a facilitator, especially when she went off grid by disabling her ankle monitor. By this point, it seemed like the lawyer did it, and sure enough, it was Dwight. The slimey lawyer types are usually guilty of something; in this case, it was killing Johns. With not a second to spare, Jethro came through and used his sniper skills at close range to drill Dwight with bullets. Completely justified, too.
Dina Meyer is destined for her own show. She’s got star power galore. And she’s gorgeous. CBS will definitely find a spot for her in the near future – like a female Alex O’Loughlin or Skeet Ulrich.
Gibbs ended up taking Holly home for dinner, cooked her a steak. It looked like it might be more than friendship, but a call on Holly’s cell for a late date squelched that. Gibbs is nobody’s fool. Will he stay her friend? Yes, but don’t expect any more than that.

You NCIS
fans must be sick and tired of Rena Sofer news, but from the looks of things she’s not going anywhere – at least for the mean time.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Sofer’s Mr. Gibbs-calling feisty lawyer character will not only be making a return on Tuesday’s episode “Mother’s Day” she will be back for “multiple episodes” in May.
Is that the sound of groaning? It gets worse.
Adds NCIS executive producer Shane Brennan, M. Allison Hart will “set in motion a chain of events that forces Gibbs (Mark Harmon) to make a life-changing decision,” a decision which he adds “will impact every member of his team.”
This bit of information suspiciously sounds connected to the little hints that Brennan gave previously regarding the much-anticipated NCIS finale, where he said elements of which have already been included in past episodes this season.
He added then: “The audience has already seen some of the elements – we’ve already started the finale in a way. You won’t see it in every episode, but we’ll tease it out. It’ll be surprising, and this year it’s going to be controversial.”
Could it be a romantic decision for Gibbs, despite the apparent unpopularity of Sofer’s Attorney Hart?
